New Years Resolutions | Lifestyle

For the last week I have been wondering, do I make a resolution for next year or not? This is probably the conundrum most are facing. If you are anything like me you know that resolutions don't really work. For about a week I stick to the resolution, then I either forget or just cant be bothered and give up.

Top Three Dystopian Books | Books

When I first got into reading I read nothing but dystopian novels. I have grown from that though and have branched out into different genres but my heart still belongs to dystopian. I have moved away from this genre as it is becoming slightly repetitive but for anyone not sure where to start with this genre have I complied a list of the top three dystopian reads (in my opinion).

3. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
If you have been hiding under a rock for the last three years, The Hunger Games is one of the most popular dystopian novels. It is well written and quite enjoyable even though it is a book about a bunch of kids trying to kill each other.

My Christmas Wish List

Dear Santa,
I know I usually ask for lots for Christmas, this year is no different. All though I'm not asking for a unicorn or a new Barbie doll, I am still asking for something materialistic. I know I should ask for world peace or something along those lines but as much as I would like that I know it is a tad unreasonable.

So of course I am asking for makeup.

The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski | Book Review

Hello people!

So I have started to read through my mammoth 'to be read' pile. Near to the top was The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski. MANY people have said that this book was amazing and that I should read it straight away.

I have to admit that the blurb on the back of the book sucked me in straight of way.  But...I didn't enjoy the book as much as I thought I would.

Favourite Books | Books

Hello lovelies.

With reading sometimes you come across a novel that makes you think, or cry (that's most of the time for me), or smile, or even make you want to chuck the book across the other side of the room. But either way, it made you feel something and you will always remember that when you see that particular book.

So here is a list of my favorite books in a short, no spoiler review.

We Were Liars - E. Lockhart

If you haven't heard, Youtube star Zoe Sugg (aka. Zoella) has written a book! The book is named Girl Online and has already started breaking records. Now I haven't been able to pick up a copy yet so no, this isn't a review. But I would like to a appreciate how the world is changing their ideas about online personalities.

Man vs Makeup

One day I was talking to one of my good friends and she said that once a male friend of hers asked her why she wore makeup. She told me that she didn't know what to say. It wasn't because she was self-conscious or that she wanted to hide her face. She wore makeup because she wanted to, so she said that. He was confused and 'dared' her not to wear makeup the next day. That challenge was easy. So the next day she met him without any makeup. When he saw her he must have forgotten about the dare and asked her why she looked so dull today. Was she sick? Did she want to go home? Did she have enough sleep? The answer was, she wasn't wearing any makeup.

Christmas? Already?

Now that is December we can all start to set up for Christmas which has its perks and disadvantages. For those who love Christmas, this is the best time of the year. For the others however it is easy to be uh... Frustrated? Over the new Christmas cheer.

For some reason over the last couple of years I haven't really been the most Christmas-y. I mean I enjoy the whole holiday and what not but I wasn't really excited for the actual day. So this year it was surprising finding myself singing Christmas carols under my breath in September.

The Best Shows To Watch These Holidays

Now I don't know about you, but on the holidays I spend most of my time catching up on shows and their latest episodes. I tend to get too emotionally invested into some of these shows, and their characters, but who doesn't? Am I right? So of course I have many tv shows that I absolutely love and just want to watch constantly, these are them (well a some of them).

1. How I Met Your Mother
Oh my god. I cant begin to tell you how much I love this show. Even though it has sadly finished it doesn't mean that I cant go back and watch every episode more then twenty times.

Books I Wish I Had Read Earlier | Books

Sometimes you finish a book and sit back. Your mind plays over every dramatic scene and every smart ass comment ass comment a character makes. But then you think to yourself, "Why didn't I read this book earlier?"

We have all had a book that makes us question why we haven't read it earlier after our friend recommended it. So this is my list of books I wish I had read earlier, and maybe you read this list and wish you had read one of these earlier.

Crusin' | Photos From a Holiday

Why hello there. This week I was fortunate enough to go on a seven day cruise for a family friend's wedding. The boat visited islands such as Vanuatu. It was an amazing experience going outside of Australia and I had an amazing time!

While on the cruise I went to tropical islands were everyone was nothing but kind and welcoming. I had a great time and got to see a part of the world I have never seen before. I highly recommend traveling and seeing the world, and I would definitely love to go on another cruise. Throughout the holiday I took arrange of photos so I decided to show you some of them.

It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini | Book Review

Ambitious New York City teenager Craig Gilner is determined to succeed at life – which means getting into the right high school to get into the right college to get the right job. But once Craig aces his way into Manhattan’s Executive Pre-Professional High School, the pressure becomes unbearable. He stops eating and sleeping until, one night, he nearly kills himself. Craig’s suicidal episode gets him checked into a mental hospital, where his new neighbors include a transsexual sex addict, a girl who has scarred her own face with scissors, and the self-elected President Armelio. There, Craig is finally able to confront the sources of his anxiety.

It's Kind of a Funny Story is a contemporary YA novel based around the struggles of adolescents and depression. It follows a teenage boy name Craig Gilner and his struggle with a new school, friends and life in general. With all these pressures he finds happiness in urinating and is always looking for an anchor.

Benefit Foundation Review

Recently I was in the city and decided to purchase my first ever Benefit product. I have heard amazing things about their foundation, Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow, so I decided to splurge and buy it. I live in Australia so it was quite expensive ($55 au) but it was completely worth it.

If you have dry skin this works a treat. It didn't feel heavy or like it was blocking my pores. It almost felt like I didn't have any makeup on which is great for school. It has light coverage though, but is buildable. I usually just put medium coverage which works well with my skin tone. With saying that, I would recommend (if you want to buy online) to go into the store and get matched up. I know I was looking at the colours online and thought I found the right colour but I went into the store just in case, I was actually wrong by two shades.

But I have to say that this foundation was one of the best I have ever bought, and I highly recommend it!
